Teaching Picture Discrimination: A Deeper Dive!
Picture discrimination greatly increases independence. This talk begins with a brief discussion about where, why, and how discrimination skills help all of us. In Phase III of the Picture Exchange Communication System® (PECS®) discrimination is taught within a meaningful context. There are some PECS users who might have a challenge with discrimination and need further assistance meeting criterion in Phase IIIA.
During this talk professionals and parents/caregivers will be provided with valuable tools to achieve this goal! 16 strategies are described via demonstration and video during this jam-packed 2 hours.
Each participant receives an assessment and planning tool with highly detailed teaching plans that can be easily and immediately be implemented by teams struggling to teach picture discrimination, a massively important skill.
